2027 Conference on Adolescent Health
The Adolescent Health Initiative (AHI) at Michigan Medicine launched the Annual Conference on Adolescent Health in 2014 to meet the growing need for improved training and resources that help professionals address adolescents' unique health care needs and actively involve them in their own care. Each year, the event hosts over 400 attendees from nearly all 50 states and a growing international community.
Objectives
- Assess strategies for adolescent-centered care in evolving social, technological, and environmental contexts.
- Identify and practice evidence-based approaches for emerging adolescent health challenges in mental health, primary care, sexual and reproductive health, school-based and community health, and youth engagement strategies.
- Discuss strategies to build youth resilience and well-being amid social and environmental changes.
- Practice provider communication and cultural humility skills to build trust and engage diverse adolescents.
- Compare collaborative care models that unite providers, educators, families, and communities.
