The Michigan Medicine Media Team provides assistance to news reporters, photographers, video crews and bloggers who wish to arrange phone/online interviews or in-person sessions with physicians, scientists, staff, students and patients from any area of Michigan Medicine, including the Medical School and all the facilities and programs of U-M Health.

We encourage you to contact us. Our assistance, whether in arranging a simple phone conversation or an elaborate video, makes the work go much more smoothly for all involved. Our assistance and approval for in-person visits by media is required.

Members of the media: Please call 734-764-2220 between 8 am and 5 pm Eastern Time for assistance.

After business hours, and on weekends and holidays, we have a person on call for urgent matters — see the Contact Our Media Team page for information.

Michigan Medicine and Henry Ford Health to conduct clinical trial on effect of CBD on post-surgical opioid use
Michigan Medicine and Henry Ford Health soon will launch a multisite clinical trial to assess if administering cannabidiol (CBD) before and after surgery may reduce the need for opioids following a total knee arthroplasty. The $6 million, 5-year grant was awarded by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) within the National Institutes of Health.
