ANN ARBOR, MI – Nurses represented by the University of Michigan Professional Nurse Council (MNA-UMPNC) have reached a tentative, three-year agreement with the University of Michigan Health.

“The tentative agreement reflects a commitment to patient safety and high-quality care," said Julie Ishak, D.N.P., R.N., Chief Nurse and Operations Executive for Michigan Medicine’s academic medical center.

“We appreciate the dedication and professionalism of both bargaining teams in reaching this tentative agreement. This agreement aims to support our nurses, strengthen our workforce, and ensure the highest quality care for the patients and families we serve,” Ishak said.

UMPNC represents more than 7,200 registered nurses, certified nurse midwives, certified registered nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, flight nurses, clinical care coordinators, and education nurses who work for U-M Health, the clinical organization of Michigan Medicine.

“I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication that our bargaining team and membership have shown throughout these negotiations. This contract represents a shared commitment with Michigan Medicine that will ensure MNA-UMPNC nurses can continue to provide the highest quality care for our patients," said Kara Ayotte, B.S.N., R.N., MNA-UMPNC President.

UMPNC will schedule a ratification vote among its members in the coming weeks.
