ANN ARBOR - United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine (UPAMM) workers have reached a tentative, three year agreement with the University of Michigan Health.
UPAMM represents about 380 physician assistants across Michigan Medicine and University Health Services. PAs are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and often serve as a patient’s principal health care provider.
“We believe this agreement reflects the extraordinary commitment of our team members. Both negotiating teams worked tirelessly to reach this tentative agreement, embodying the core values of collaboration, caring and integrity that set Michigan Medicine apart as a premier academic medical center,” said David Miller, M.D., M.P.H., president of U-M Health.
"UPAMM is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with U-M Health for our second contract. We believe this contract embodies the collaboration and partnership we have between our union and leadership, while recognizing the significant contributions of Physician Assistants throughout the health system. We are excited to present this agreement to membership and look forward to continued collaboration with our leadership," said Brittney McCormack, UPAMM president.
UPAMM will schedule a ratification vote among its members in the coming weeks.
