For Exhibiting Artists

Are you an exhibiting artist who is interested in displaying your work at Michigan Medicine?

Exhibiting artists can submit images and descriptions of their work for consideration, and selected artists display work in one of Gifts of Art's nine galleries. The 2023-24 Call for Exhibits has now closed. The next call will open in Spring 2024.

Artwork is displayed along a hospital corridor Mission

The Exhibition Program is intended to support the healing process by calming nerves, lifting spirits, and engaging minds, thereby reducing the stress and anxiety often associated with healthcare settings. To meet this goal, we take into consideration the medical and emotional sensitivities of our viewers when selecting artwork.

In selecting artwork, Gifts of Art’s primary mission is to create an enriching and calming atmosphere within the often stressful environment of a hospital to provide the highest quality environment of care for our patients, guests, faculty, staff and learners.

With a large and diverse faculty, staff, patient, guest, and learner population, the Gifts of Art exhibition program strives to be inclusive and honor this diversity by mounting exhibits that make everyone feel welcome.

We take into consideration the medical and emotional sensitivities of our viewers. Overt sexual content, violence and nudity will not be considered. We also avoid pieces that are confrontational, obviously depressing or contain negative medical connotations.
