Nurses represented by the University of Michigan Professional Nurses Council (UMPNC) voted Friday to ratify a one-year contract, which will delay the need for contract negotiations until 2022.
The contract with the University of Michigan Professional Nurses Council (UMPNC) will be in effect from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The current contract with the UMPNC was set to expire June 30, 2021.
The new one-year agreement allows negotiations to be delayed, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
The UMPNC represents the 6,100 registered nurses at University of Michigan hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities.
The one-year contract incorporates the terms of the existing contract and provides pay increases of approximately 3 percent depending on job level.
