Mott experts to address questions about COVID-19 and kids in live Q & A

U-M pediatric physicians to talk about what is known about how the virus affects kids and new reports of an inflammatory condition known as “PIMS” or “MIS-C.”

While a small number of children appear to be getting sick from COVID-19, experts are still learning more about how the virus behaves in kids. New reports now suggest a rare disease called multi-inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) believed to be connected to COVID-19 may also affect children.

As states reopen and families prepare for a slow return to "normal," experts from Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital will help answer parents’ top questions in a live Q&A on Tuesday, May 26 at 1 p.m. EST.

Panelists will include Mott infectious disease physician Elizabeth Lloyd, M.D., and pediatric cardiologist Gabe Owens, M.D. Ph.D.
