As families prepare for the COVID vaccine rollout for adolescents and teens ages 12-15, Michigan Medicine experts will help answer parents’ top questions during a live Q & A.
The livestream will take place at 3:30 p.m. EST Thursday, May 13 on the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital Facebook and Twitter pages. It will also be broadcast on Michigan Medicine’s YouTube channel, University of Michigan’s Facebook page and the U-M Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital Facebook page.
Panelists will include family physician and immunization expert Pamela Rockwell, D.O. and Sharon Kileny, M.D., pediatrician at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
The livestream follows this week’s FDA authorization of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for adolescents and teens ages 12-15.
Experts will address various subjects, including clinical trials and safety and efficacy in kids, expected side effects, vaccine misconceptions, future vaccines for younger kids and why pediatric vaccinations are an important piece of combating the pandemic and a return to normalcy for youth.
