Block Out Cancer

Patients, athletes, celebrities, and even an Earthbound Stormtrooper joined the fight against childhood cancers with their participation in the Block Out Cancer effort. The awareness and fundraising campaign at U-M supports pediatric cancer research every September. Among those who showed their support on Instagram were the "Wolverines Trooper" and U-M therapy dog Denver; the Michigan women's basketball team, led by coach Kim Barnes Arico; U-M alumnus David Burtka, a chef and actor, and his and husband Neil Patrick Harris's twins, Harper and Gideon; and Jim Harbaugh, Michigan football coach, with patient Vara Gordon and her mom, Emily Gordon, a U-M alumna.
